| Closing Soon: Teacher/Maker August 5-September 2 This is the last week to view Teacher/Maker at Artspace 304's Main Gallery! The juried exhibition presents work from 16 regional educators who also identify as makers and artists in Southern Illinois. | Corridor Gallery: Visions August 17-October 14 Featuring wood carvings and mixed media by Yvonne Alderman, Visions is on view at the Corridor Gallery in the Carbondale Civic Center. Her work draws from her experiences growing up on the Blue Ridge and being surrounded by creative women. The title of the exhibition refers to the pictures that come to mind during her daily routines and serve as inspiration for her practice. Additional wood carvings by Yvonne are featured on the Artist Showcase wall behind the reception desk at Artspace 304. |

| Enduring Passion for the Arts September 13-October 21 The next exhibition coming to our Main Gallery will feature work made by members of The Art Colony at Carbondale Unitarian Fellowship. | | | | | Who will be the next Poetry Out Loud champion? Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages high school students to learn about poetry through memorization and performance. Poetry Out Loud offers free classroom materials, an online poetry anthology, and a series of recitation competitions. Registration is now open for schools and organizations interested in hosting a local Poetry Out Loud competition in Southern Illinois. Winners of local competitions will be eligible to compete at the Region 1 Competition, hosted in spring 2023 by Artspace 304, before moving onto the state and national competitions.
