These photographs, originally purchased from the artist for the Melange restaurant, were rediscovered in the construction of our Artspace 607 space. The photographs, that are completed in alternative developing and printing processes, will be displayed in a new light with this exhibition.

Nila Tanner at The Corridor Gallery

Impressions of Southern Illinois by Nila Tanner is on view at The Corridor Gallery from May 10 – July 14. Tanner grew up in Pinckneyville, IL and currently resides in Carbondale. As a young adult, she attended painting classes with Nevins Ware, a talented painter and businessman in Pinckneyville. Her work consists mostly of landscapes of her beloved Southern Illinois. Echoing the Impressionism art movement, Tanner uses a unique color palette of blues, greens and purples  with emphasis on the fluidity of oil paint in each brush stroke. Visit The Corridor Gallery, located in the Carbondale Civic Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30am – 5pm.
