Impressions of Southern Illinois by Nila Tanner is on view at The Corridor Gallery until July 14. Tanner grew up in Pinckneyville, IL and currently resides in Carbondale. As a young adult, she attended painting classes with Nevins Ware, a talented painter and businessman in Pinckneyville. Her work consists mostly of landscapes of her beloved Southern Illinois. Echoing the Impressionism art movement, Tanner uses a unique color palette of blues, greens and purples with emphasis on the fluidity of oil paint in each brush stroke. Visit The Corridor Gallery, located in the Carbondale Civic Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30am – 5pm. |
